Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan manifested on this earth to spiritually transform humanity. To keep the perpetual flame of devotion and eternal salvation burning for all generations, He personally consecrated six divine abodes. Among these sacred shrines, Dholera Dham holds a uniquely special prominence. Due to the challenging arid climate, coastal salt-plains, and difficult travel in earlier centuries, reaching Dholera was demanding for pilgrims—and for that very reason, Bhagwan Swaminarayan bestowed His extraordinary love and divine affection upon the saints and devotees residing here.

Upon the heartfelt prayers of Bhaktaraj Punja Bapu Darbar and faithful local devotees desiring the eternal presence of God and saints, Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan Himself performed the foundation ceremony of this sacred temple. Built under the divine supervision of Sadguru Nishkulanand Swami and Sadguru Adbhutanand Swami, on Vaishakh Sud-13, Samvat 1882 (19 May 1826), Bhagwan Swaminarayan installed the majestic divine deity of Shri Radhadhiraj Madanmohanji Maharaj, blessing the Bhal region forever.

As Shri Madanmohanji Maharaj completes 200 glorious years of divine presence in Dholera Dham, under the auspicious leadership of current Acharya 1008 Param Pujya Dharam Dhurandhar Shri Rakeshprasadji Maharaj, Param Pujya 108 Lalji Maharaj, the Dharmakul, and the Vadtal Managing Trustee Board, the grand Bicentenary Mahotsav will be celebrated from 23 December to 31 December 2026.
